Accessibility and accommodation considerations are integrated from the start of our product development process. Through a continuous improvement approach, we ensure that our accessibility efforts are always evolving and advancing. Our systematic approach includes the following:
  • Guided by Standards
Our accessibility efforts are informed by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework.
  • Designing for Accessible Experiences
Our content development processes evaluate and meet accessibility needs in accordance with WCAG guidelines. We refine our practices to improve the accessibility of our content and platforms. Understanding that learning experiences vary, we focus on best practices to meet diverse needs. This includes attention to reading order, the use of alternative text, and ensuring content compatibility with screen readers.
  • Dedicated Expert Team
We have a dedicated team of accessibility experts with over 30 years of combined experience, and includes members with IAAP certifications. Our team of specialists continuously explores innovative ways to make our educational programs accessible to a diverse range of learners.
  • External Review
We collaborate with outside accessibility experts to ensure that our strategies align with both current and emerging best practices. All Products are tested using: Windows®/Chrome™/NVDA, iOS/Safari®/Voiceover; OS/Safari/Voiceover, by accredited third parties who use both manual and automated approaches as part of the Quality Assurance (QA) processes.
  • Standardized Development Practices
New products are designed following standardized accessibility practices, which we update to reflect current guidelines. We also provide learning opportunities for our staff to expand their understanding of accessibility best practices.
  • Commitment to Continuous Improvement
Savvas is dedicated to anticipating the needs of diverse learners. If gaps in our practices arise, we work with educators to find solutions. We value feedback and welcome questions on inclusive design and accessibility.
